Alleged Xbox ‘Durango’ development system sells for $20K on eBay

Yahoo - Despite plenty of leaks, Microsoft has yet to officially confirm that it's working on the next Xbox. But the first one may already have been sold.

An eBay auction over the weekend found a buyer for a purported Xbox 'Durango' Development Kit — a system game developers use to create games for the upcoming console. The buyer, who remained anonymous, shelled out $20,100 for the kit, which apparently looks like a black computer tower.

Boy would it suck for the Buyer, if it turned out to be just a Gaming Rig.

If it is indeed Xbox ‘Durango’, i hope the Buyer releases some details.

$20,000? wtf? As much as people would want to get their hands on the new Xbox platform....that's just too much.

Yes, it's a ridiculous amount of money, the buyer probably bought it in hope that he'll be able to sell it at a Profit.

Or maybe it's Microsoft who bought it & prevented it from being in a strangers hand.

if real hes going to jail.

theres no reason for a dev kit
cept to hack
or program

.... but if 20k is what you need to consider your self first your life is uh..... not that good.

One Gamer’s Humble Opinion: “Why the console won’t die out any time soon”

Alex Lemcovich: Everything’s dying, apparently. Everything’s old and tired; to put it more dramatically, we’re an industry comprised of reluctant dinosaurs trying to accommodate the plucky homo sapiens who’ve had the nerve to just evolve seemingly out of nowhere.

Third party publishers and developers are falling through the cracks, thanks to some unforeseen changes in the way games make money. The mobile and digital markets have left things in a largely unfathomable state of affairs and the ocean of AAA products is shrinking substantially as a direct result. Big names and big firms suddenly look very flimsy indeed. Guessing who the next casualty of the financial situation will be has become industry analysts’ favourite subject for article writing.

EDGE - Microsoft’s next console will require an Internet connection in order to function, ruling out a second-hand game market for the platform. A new iteration of Xbox Live will be an integral part of Microsoft’s next console, while improved Kinect hardware will also ship alongside the unit.

Ok, there are so many depressing things in the Title alone.

I fear PS4 will pull the same ****.

Mounce4095d ago

Nope. Sony is doing the opposite to lure the people who dislike this concept of Microsofts'.

Sony announced that they have no intention of blocking used games.

Lol always online-you do realize that alot of people dont have internet

Mounce4095d ago

To Microsoft that means, a lot of consumers without forcing them to buy Gold Membership, which means no profit to them.

Do you really think Microsoft cares for you if you're not giving them annual money or monthly payments?

hazelamy4095d ago

ms aren't stupid enough to do this, are they? o_O

BlmThug4095d ago

Internet speeds are about to increase in the next few months along with the mobile devices speeds and the decreasing prices of WiFi around conclude there maybe a way can see this happening.
