PC Magazine: "With reports of Egypt's government completing shutting down the Internet in the country, talk about an "Internet kill switch" bill in the U.S. has reemerged. Could it happen here?"
We're gonna head west. There's a rumor goin' around there might be some Internet out there. So we're headed out Californee Way.
No matter what happens cutting of the flow of information is something Communist or Fascist do. When you are trying to control people in an EVIL WAY, the first thing you do is cut off ways for people to communicate and organize.
Iran Election protesters did a great job using the Internet, Youtube/Video Phones, and Twitter to work together and get their story out. This form of communication shut down is OPPRESSION by a EVIL government.
We need to remember "one if by land two if by sea" if we are to keep our Independence and remain truly FREE cause what is happening in other countries will or has already begun to happen to us.
If they do, they would not use it until some dire circumstance occurs, as in..much worse than what is happening in Egypt ... maybe like if a firesale occurs
That "Obama staring into a monitor and selecting control internet" pic is just hilarious. LOL.
Indeed. *Obama meets option to reformat Internet*, *Clicks yes by accident*... "Oops... I don't know how that happened, must be the guys in IT who did that"
Can you imagine how bad these Old farts are going to screw everything up by the time kids that grew up with the internet reach office...
Bush says " We will get are porn back and to those you took it.... Give us back are porn, it's not cool man" (Curse you Robot Chicken). But really not cool.
So many people don't want to hear about the Government screwing us over. It's just easier to "sleep." One day you'll wake up and find the Control Machine in effect and it will be too late. Fuck Government Control.
There was a report on Al Jazeera yesterday calling Egypt's young people the "Facebook generation" - and that they were considered useless by their government. As the "FaceBook generation", Al Jazeera reported, they began to expect certain freedoms - freedoms their government is making clear they are unwilling to give them. According to AJ, this expectation is uncharacteristic in the Egyptian people - and I think it's entirely characteristic in America. What are we if not entitled? ;) Ha. All that to say - I think D.C. would be razed if such a thing were to be seriously suggested.
IF the USA does it there would be more madness than in egypt's since there is obviously more people in the USA.
