How to Reactivate Copy of Windows 10 after Hardware Change

Winranx - Microsoft improved the Activation feature of Windows 10 by adding a new option that let you activate Windows 10 after changing major hardware like motherboard, SSD and Hard Drive.

Doesn't work. First off there is no such version as 14371. The newest version is 1511. When i go into the windows activation panel it just says "Windows 10 on this device is activated with a digital entitlement" I have always been logging in through my Microsoft account and when i sign into the devices page of the Microsoft site, it shows this system as having been connected, but without a product key displayed.

The Microsoft sites help page also has no mention of this supposed change. It still says that if you have a free upgrade from windows 7 or 8, there is no way to reactivate manually after making major hardware changes. You have to contact MS customer support.

The author is referring to an insider edition build. When the Windows 10 Anniversary Update comes out, then the rest of us will have access to it.

It sounds nice, if it doesn't any major fine print.

Anyone who has a Retail version of a previous windows and went for the upgrade, the licence carries over to W10 anyway so you can install as much as you want after hardware changes.
