Wow people on here are so one track minded. The original Xbox was a solid console and it was only the original 360 that had the issue.
I don't see Ms changing the specs on the one and I don't think they need to. Power is not everything on a console its about games and from what we have seen so far the one has plenty of games to get people to buy there console.
Also no one will know how well the one or ps4 will sell until after the 1st 12 months od be...

I have it on my none touch screen pc at work and imo I would not go back to windows 7 as it starts up faster, my 3 year old laptop runs better and I only use a few metro apps on it but they work find on a none touch screen and it works with all the software I used on my windows 7 pc. I see why people say that but its not him who has messed up the company and I don't think they are messed up but the market and times have changed.
The phone market had a big shakeup with the iphone and Ms thought windows phone had enough to take a big part of the market and in a way it was a os that could of but the devices were not there. I did this on my Xoom when I had it and worked well I now do this on my surface with the xbox Wi-Fi dongle and 360 controller and they work really well on some games.
I thought this ide was really good and also made the xbox one a fast switching console. Also the match making when playing a different game was great to. I hope Microsoft can find a way for an opt in and out for this as I really liked the ide and the way that it all worked. Its not for everyone but why should people who wanted it miss it as this is what made the one different to the PS4 and WiiU.

I agree I have had a HD7, HTC Titan and Lumia 900 so far and I am getting a Lumia 925 next month. The old windows phone is lacking apps is no longer true and After using Windows Mobile, Android and IOS over the past few years I don't see me changing from windows phone any time soon.
I am no apple fan but I do think the new OS looks nice out side of the home screen. For me it looks more like Windows Phone than Android as everything is flat. This is not enough for me to switch from Windows phone as the OS still offers me more. Even though Apple have taken a lot of things from other OS systems I can see a lot of people getting an Iphone this time round again as they will show it off as if its never been done before and that they thought of the ideas 1st.
Windows 8 is a success. In fact alto of Ms products are doing well at the moment. They have Xbox windows phone office and more all selling well in some hard markets but just because they don't sell as many as some of other bits of software on the market people call it a flop.
If you look at the tablet market for example it is donated by apple. But Microsoft have managed to get 7.5% of the tablet market with limited tablets out there and in a short time.

Ive never been a fan of ios or the android os but I can see why people like it. IM sure the new ios will work well and im sure that the iphone what ever it will be called next will work well in what it dose and will sell well like the ones before it but I don't expect a massive change in the os.
@kingpost I really don't get why people say windows 8 is not keyboard and mouse friendly. I have windows 8 on my surface rt and running on my work laptop that is 3 years old.
On my surface I only use the keyboard and mouse when working on the desktop side of the os or in ie. The new ui I use my fingers for.
On my laptop I use 3 new ui apps remote desktop, weather and Xbox music the rest are x32 apps.

I have really enjoyed using Windows 8 on my Work laptop and also on my surface but Windows 8.1 looks like it will make it even better.
Its just people being picky. We have setup 15 windows 8 pcs on different sites this year and not one customer has had an issue using the os after a quick show on how they should use it and we also pin all the apps they need to the start menu so they are not looking all over for it.
For me the new start menu is better than the old one on touch and none touch screen pc's as you can set it up how ever you want unlike the old start menu.

I don't get the - press with windows 8. I have a surface rt and after owning a iPad and android tablets I can say windows 8 is by far the best os on a tablet. There is no lag, crashing, easy to use and works with my devices like printers, tv, server ect without any messing about.

Kids are the ones who need BBM. My brother who is 15 had a blackberry and when he was due an upgrade he got an Iphone but kept his Blackberry for BBM as this is where he talks to most people.
There are better options out there but a lot of parents still don't get kids a lot of interment time and because of this BBM is the best option.

I think its funny the way people are talking about the decline of pc's. How many people dose a single person on here know that has not got a pc? I know one and that is my granddad and he is 84 and has no need for a pc as he dose not under stand or need this technology do late on in his life.

Im not saying Apple need to change there pricing of a single device what I mean is that Apple now need to make different versions of there tablets and phones if they want to keep top spot.
For example not everyone wants a 3.5" screen or even a 4" screen. Some people want a tablet with a screen format like the Surface some want them 7" if apple offered formats like this it would help there sales.
