We have all been saying this for years but as long as the millions buy the Iphone the more the OS will look the same.
For me Windows Phone and BlackBerry 10 are a nice fresh look to the mobile world and I hope they both do well as having more choice on the market is far better than just 2.
Lol so you disagree with something without reading it. Well done that shows the type of people on here.
I have been using Windows 8 on my work none screen laptop since Windows 8 came out and I have not had any issues with the OS and as after using it for a few days ive found it easier to use than Windows 7 as everything I need is pinned to my start menu. I don't use any Metro (New UI Apps on it as I don't use it for Touch) I also have a surface RT that replaced my Xoom 2 months ago and for me there is no better tablet out there for what it offers me.
The Touch Apps work...
I love my Lumia. I was a big android user before but for me windows phone offers more than android with Xbox music, Nokia maps, office mobile, skydrive etc.
I don't think it will be long until Nokia have the Lumia devices as the number 3 selling device being the iPhone and Samsung galaxy phones.
@Th3 Chr0nic how is it harder to find something. Bring up the start menu and start typing what you are looking for just like you can click on start and then the search on windows 7 but you don't need to click in the search this time.
@Th3 Chr0nic I agree its not for everyone but to say "its cumbersome and clunky" is not true. its not harder to use than Windows 7 and it also runs faster than Windows 7.
Its a change MS needed to make to give us on OS across touch and none touch devices.
If you don't like it then fine stay on Windows 7 but it is far from a Bad OS.
@Farsendor1 Since when dose Windows 8 rely on touch? As I said I have Windows 8 on my work laptop and it is none touch so I use my Mouse.
That's not true. It dose not put back the start button it give you the ability to stop the charms bar ect from popping up when working in some programs.
I don't see why Windows 8 has so much hate I have Windows 8 on my Work laptop and I also own a Surface RT and I have never had an issue using them in any environment. I don't use the new UI Apps on my laptop but the new start menu is imo faster and easer to use them then the original start menu because you can pin...
What I find funny about this is Apple, Google ect don't offer anything like this on there OS's yet nothing has been done to them to make them show you what other browsers are available on there OS's.
This is just another way for Europe to make money from what ever they can.
I agree. I was a big Anti Microsoft customer during the Vista days but since windows 7 Microsoft products have got better and better each year.
The difference between now and 3 years ago is we now have 3 very good OS's that are all big. IOS, Android and Windows.
Home users seem to be picking up IOS and Android more but the Business market is Windows and I see it being this way for quite some time.
Good job ive still got my myspace account then just in case they all move to that.
Windows Phone and Windows 8 are 2 different types of Operating system.
I think its funny how IE still gets stick from people. I was a big Firefox and Chrome fan until IE 9 came out and for me everything I use in day to day web browsing IE dose better.
I now have IE10 on my Surface and Windows 8 laptop and again I cant fault it. It works with every web site I throw at it where Chrome and Firefox don't.
For me Microsoft as a company seem to be making there software a lot faster and more stable than everyone else to. from Windo...
I can't remember the last time I logged onto my fb site. I only use it on my Lumia and surface for seeing what people do every now and again. Do people really still use the web site once they set it up for the 1st time?
I agree with this but I would rather have things like this in place to monitor what people are doing on the web to catch Pedo's, Rapist's, Bully's, Terrorist's and more before they crack down on people downloading a film that has made more money then any other film this year.
If film company's put there head together like the music industry has and offer all films on services like Netflix ext instead of making films exclusive to one or another then more pe...
Evil_ryu I agree. I am finding it funny with peoples comments on here. People who have a desktop say its a tablet os yet people who have had a tablet say its a desk top is.
Has the penny not dropped yet? The os is for both.
The ony difference between windows 7 and windows 8 for none touch screen users is you have a new start menu that you can pin and unpin anything you want to it so you can access when ever you want and you then just use everything in desktop...
I like Bill. What he did with Microsoft up until he left and all the work he dose for people who needs it is amazing. He always seems to make time for other people and was never scared to help out rivals like apple etc.
He also has a since of humour which is hard to come by with old school geeks.
I agree with you. IM like that if I want something ill pay what ever the price is. I got a surface rt when it came out and the same as I got a 3ds psv and Wiiu to. Ill do the same with the ps4 and next Xbox if they look interesting but that said the more £ they put on the home consoles the less I see them selling to the none core market.
The biggest issue with the none core now is tablets. The none core want to pay less for there devices but if a device like a tablet is ...
Lol looks like people disagree with us. I think its funny the age we now live in. Most people are all about mine is better than yours and it looks cool so I must have it and look the same as other people.
The iPhone did set the bar on how people wanted a smart phone but now android, windows phone and rim are better os's that people should also look at.
