July Contest Details

Here in July we are trying to combat the lazy days of summer by giving away some new gear for your rig. In an effort to at least get you up and back in front of your monitor for some explosive gaming action...With your new MSI N560GTX TI TWIN FROZR II OC

This month in an effort to open this contest up to as many loyal members as possible we are going to take every person with at least 40 comments (400 Comment Score) and throw them in the mix to win. At the end of the month a random winner will be chosen among all qualifying members, and that member will walk away with a brand new MSI GeForce GTX560 1 GB DDR5 Graphics Card. So comment and then pray Lady Luck is with you this month.

One more thing with this contest is leave your Computer's specs in the comment section of this blog. It will have no bearing on who is selected as the winner but will be a cool way to see which members could REALLY use an upgrade...Or a way to groan as the guy with the Carbon Fiber, Nitrogen cooled rig wins a card they probably don't need. Either way it will help us gauge if MORE computer components need to be given out in the future.

Submit news and get a top 2 News ranking in July and you can win $50.
The prizes are:
1. $50
2. $50

- Single post wonders, spammers, rude or offensive remarks all result in a DQ.
- Contests are NOT limited to the US/NA.
- You have to be willing to provide a valid address in order to claim prize. At the end of the month winners will be contacted on TechSpy via PM.

FINALLY wow it feels like forever ago you told us about this HTPC build.

Syko2297d ago (Edited 2297d ago )

@Toaster, Ya man I was waiting forever for the Z68 Intel boards to drop and it really postponed my build. Then with the overall cost I have been slowly piecing it together. The thing is an absolute beast.

@Mr_Anderson, Ya 2.69TB left to fill it is an XBMC with everything you could imagine.

So what do you guys think about more component giveaways in the future? Any particular components you would like to be up for grabs? Components are a hard thing to give away due to all the different builds. Things such as CPU's and Memory are hit or miss? What do you guys think? Cases? PSU's? MB's?

toaster2297d ago

I think SSDs would be great, something like a 60GB SSD would pretty much benefit anyone with a computer. Cases would be another good one.

Syko2296d ago

Nice toaster, I agree a SSD would be a welcome addition to any rig.

fatstarr2296d ago

CPUS, the site would become a battle ground for the latest i7. hahah
id prolly skip work for a month to keep up.

definitely ssds
and coolers

and psu's are nice aswell

toaster2295d ago

I think CPUs would be too complicated as people might need to get a whole new core system (mobo+RAM) to take advantage of a new CPU. I agree that PSUs are good, everyone can use a bigger PSU.

fatstarr2295d ago

lol there are tons that need a whole system upgrade. if i got a free i7 ill have more money for the board :D haha but thats just my oppinion
