Ohh the 5k retina iMac is a must have.

ChrisW3479d ago

5K in a 27"?

I'm certain people will say it looks nice, but it won't look much different from a 2K at that screen dimension.

eferreira3479d ago

But droid fanboys constantly brag about. 4k on their 5 inch device. Apple can never win

AnandTech: The 27-inch Apple iMac Review (2011)

AnandTech: It used to be that if you needed a fast desktop that ran OS X you pretty much had to shell out for a Mac Pro. With this generation I firmly believe that the 27-inch iMac is a real alternative. And unlike iMacs of the past, this new one is actually married to a display that the high end folks might actually want.

Just wanna price this out to something comparable

Intel Core i5-2500 Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz(3.7GHz Turbo Boost) $209.99
SAPPHIRE 100328L Radeon HD 6770 1GB GDDR5 $124.99
Mushkin Enhanced 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1333 Memory for Apple $99.00
Western Digital WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/a $90.00
SONY Black Blu-ray Burner SATA BD-5300S-0B $110.00
ASUS P8H61-M LE/CSM (REV 3.0) LGA 1155 (random board) $75.00
Acer H274HLBMID Black 27" 5ms Full HD 1920*1080 $350

apple wins in monitor

o.o 1700$ price tag. i could build a monster for that much.

toaster4713d ago

Faster components, but it won't look nearly as good. I've also had bad experience with Acer, they're probably one of the worst monitor manufacturers in terms of quality. That computer also won't be an all-in-one which is the appeal of the iMacs.

fatstarr4713d ago

I See your point, i picked the acer monitor because apple is crazy with the resolution on that monitor and i just picked any random one. so the fact that its all in one pushes the price up?

Sahil4713d ago

Good thing they use the best IPS panels in these things, am satisfied with this piece of beauty :)
