It's gone be more and more of this kind of attacks. the war types are changing..

BWTrail2493d ago

I agree. It's quite amazing. I wonder if this will push more institutions to utilize Linux or Macs.

LOL i didn't think about Linux or Mac OS but I think you are right, better safe than sorry

Or, you know, update Windows? Many of the casualties since WannaCrypt are Windows XP systems. XP! No serious enterprise should still be using that or Vista. The vulnerabilities allowing these pests to spread were patched in modern Windows back in March. That's assuming the users are bothering to get the updates, of course. The issue was even patched in XP more recently, a rare move by Microsoft that underscores how bad the security failure is.

Linux, MacOS.... Makes no difference, they will attack what is more common....... This is not about Windows only....

KingPin2491d ago

i agree with Pogmathoin

the only reason windows gets attacked is because its the most popular.
if linux/mac was this popular, they too would be in the same position windows is in right now.

Cobra951, you're right on that. I'm still amazed by the number of companies that rely upon unsupported and out of date operating systems.
