DVD killed the video star, but will the Internet conquer all?

MWEB TechnoZone writes: "As video-on-demand services become more commonplace, cast your mind back to 27 October 2008. This date probably won’t hold any great significance for most people, but given what has transpired in the past few years, that particular date represents a massive moment in the annals of video.

This was the very day on which electronics company JVC produced the last of the world’s standalone VCRs, 33 years after the device first entered global markets."

The memories!
The Internet already conquered all.

Its inevitable I think - internet will win, but probably sport and live news will still persist on TV. Then again, "futurists" have been saying for ages that TV is dead, but its still here, doing a good job adapting with VOD, PVR, etc.

In a big way I am feeling scared about everything and anything is internet/downloadable bound.

The need to actually get out and travel, shell your hard earned cash and feel the actual hardware in your very hands.. all those moments will be lost.. like tears in the rain ( Bladerunner )..

..also I believe we will predictably be swamped by a ton of useless adverts with each and every download, which is a lot of wasted money on our internet usage but a money-making business scam for them.

study abroad is the chance to find yourself while acquiring a comprehension of an alternate culture. Being in another spot without help from anyone else can overpower on occasion.
