Microsoft is no longer manufacturing the Surface 2

The Verge: Microsoft's Surface just had a very healthy quarter, bringing the company $1.1 billion in revenue. While we don't actually know how many units that is, Microsoft says that most of them were its newest model, the Surface Pro 3, which outsold its predecessor, the Surface 2, three to one. So it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise that Microsoft is shifting its focus to the newer version instead. Today the company said it plans to stop making the Surface 2 in favor of focusing on the Surface Pro 3.

None because TABLETS are CRAP.

JustInTlME3663d ago

You've obviously never had the pleasure in owning one, lol.

Very nifty devices.

Surface pro isnt really a tablet, its a full laptop disguised as a tablet

Eyesoftheraven3662d ago (Edited 3662d ago )

If you're a power user used to fast custom PCs or even Mac towers, then absolutely they suck in every way. Even something as simple as YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch TV playback looks terrible compared to desktop viewing.

For casual, non critical passive use, they're great if not very expensive for what they do in terms of productivity.

Blacklash933662d ago

A tablet is really only comparable to things from a portable perspective. Office computers with towers do not apply.

fatstarr3662d ago

you are right they are novelty facebook machines and app players. anyone who does real work on a tablet realy disillusioned themselves into doing so.

Wikkid6663662d ago

8.1 on a touch screen works great

cell9893662d ago

lol the touchscreen is the least of concerns in regards to the Surface

Wikkid6663662d ago

LOL! I understand your comment now. You're 12 yr kid that can't comprehend what I said.

iPad. Although I love my iPad mini with retina!!!

sourav933662d ago

Lemme guess...you've got a full-sized iPad as well as a mini?

fatstarr3662d ago

he also has the mac book and the macbook air

JustInTlME3657d ago

I had an iPad 2. Then got an iPad Air, but decided to exchange it back when the iPad Mini with retina was released. My wife has the Kindle Fire HDX and it is a pretty decent device for the price. My father in law has the surface and I got a chance to use it, but I just don't find that it works well for me for what I want to do on a tablet.

Apple just has such a dominant OS that until someone else decides to make something that just simply works, Apple will continue to be the best tablet on the market. (again all my opinion)

iPad Air has Polished ecosystem, well designed apps and better battery life.

I couldn't tell it any better , You're absolutely right :
