Why would we waist money on this? Oh right vanity! Screw hungry people screw funding cancer research hell screw everything! Diamonds have no use except to impress pretty girls who will most likely get into marriages for the ring anyways!

Don't use diamonds as an excuse for industrial usage because if we are to blow that much money it would be smarter and economical to spend it on nano tech and exotic materials that are three to five times stronger then diamond!
