Kobo's newest e-reader leaks, photos show Aura-inspired design

Engadget - Leaked photos of the next e-reader to join the Kobo family have appeared online today, and from the looks of it, the company isn't out to reinvent the wheel. We rummaged around in the FCC filings to confirm that it'll come with a 6-inch screen and a 1,500mAh battery, which bests the 1,000mAh one in the Kobo Glo.

WHSmith releases 7-inch Android colour tablet.

NRM: "WHSmith seems to have grown rather out-of-date as of late. As a brand around here, except for the Smiths at Lincoln and Notts train stations, its starting to become rather overlooked. So to bring itself back into Christmas contention, they've released the Kobo Vox: a 7-inch Android powered tablet (hello Kindle Fire).

However, except for the startlingly similar minimalistically dull design ethic of the aforementioned American counterpart, the 8GB onboard storage and the 512 mb ram, this is where the similarities end."

The Kobo Vox Vs The Kindle Fire and Nook Color

It would be interesting to see how this social angle on the e-reader/tablet niche Kobo has taken will play out. Amazon is surely marketing the Kindle Fire as an e-reader as well as a media hub for digital content including music and videos (TV shows and movies) available through its store. It’s also important to note that Kobo does not have the same scale of content available in its repositories when compared to the content available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Will the company strike gold with social e-reading?
