Microsoft Loses Mobile Market Share to Google and Apple

Maximum PC: The latest data from the comScore MobileLens service suggests that Microsoft is having a rough time carving smartphone market share in the U.S. away from Google and Apple. It happened just the opposite, actually. Android and iOS were the only two mobile operating systems to see market share growth for the three month period ending in November 2012, while Microsoft's Windows Phone platform declined by 0.6 percent.

why?

Now with google removing support for gmail unless windows phone has caldav, and MS' response that users are free to 'upgrade' to outlook.. they just let down a lot of users who are deep into google apps. More similar moves, and they (win phone) can lay down with nokia in the same grave.

Maybe MS should focus more on developing robust apps for use in iOS and android without any missing features.
