Maximum PC: Love it or hate it Microsoft has launched Windows 8 and Windows RT, bringing with it a new Start experience and the Windows Store. We have mixed feelings on the whole idea ourselves, but that didn’t stop us from downloading a bunch of Windows 8 apps as soon as they dropped. Several of these replicate functionality we would usually get with a browser-based app, and you can certainly still do that on a Windows 8 PC, but having an app designed for Windows 8 can be handy, in particular for anybody rocking Metro on a touch screen.
The cloud storage platform will drop support for older versions of Windows in early 2022.

In the earliest days of the Surface, it was hard to shake the notion that the line was something of a reference design for Windows 8.
