Perhaps, but intelligence is a double edged sword and super intelligence is more like a light saber, deadly from ever angle. Even you mildly intelligent human beings are cable of planetary levels of destruction (i.e. nuclear weapons).. so it stands to reason that a hyper-intelligent assemblage of beings would be even more adept at destroying themselves than mankind is. Everything has not transitioned from SD to HD at this point, making "HD" the default "SD" of this generation, "HD" being, in my opinion 4K (technically Ultra HD)...
