This is the phone that's supposed to save BlackBerry.
That seems like a dire thing to say about the new Android-powered BlackBerry Priv, which in any other context would just be yet-another Android phone in what has become a veritable sea of yet-another Android phones. As an Android phone, it's stolidly middle of the road. It's unique in having a hardware keyboard, and it has some nice BlackBerry software features, but it does Android things.
Blackberry rolled out a Blackberry priv keyboard beta version that easily switched between different languages few days ago.
It was thought that Blackberry Priv with Android OS will be the real hit, but unfortunately it started to struggle.
I still have very fond memories of my old Blackberry Bold 9900, what an awesome phone that was.
Shame the Blackberry couldn't keep up.
BlackBerry is now pushing out a fresh Marshmallow beta update for the Priv to those who signed up to help test it, though, this time around they are being a bit more specific about who exactly will be receiving it.
