Even Apple didn't want my iPhone 6 Plus

After the Apple big announcement, I internally debated the merits of a mobile phone that would instantly connect me to a lifetime's worth of entertainment and knowledge, and a slightly larger version of the same thing. I chose the big one. Like so many bad decisions, I made this one at 3AM in my underpants.

Same here,I switched to Android after having an iPhone 4 then 4s. I was sick of the latest and greatest phone from apple always being the same as the one before with 3 extra useless 'must haves'.

It would take a lot to make me go back to an apple handset...still love my iPad though :)

My partner wants the 6+. I urged her to wait until we see them in person. As we actually hold it in our hands, it just doesn’t feel comfortable. It’s awkward (slippery, have to grip tighter, etc.) when holding it with one hand to listen to a phone call. Went for a 6 instead.

just went to hold the phone and wow, it’s big.

I dunno; I held one over the weekend was immediately filled with Techlust™. If I was buying an iPhone this year, I almost certainly would go for the 6+.

Try using it in bed. I had the same thing happen that the author complained of: it shifting out of my hand and hitting me in the face! I have since added the Apple leather case and it’s more grippy, but the phone’s still too damn large. I can’t run with it in my shorts pocket, and that alone is a deal breaker. People not only stare at my phone on the subway (presumably only since it’s new and it’s an iPhone) but they can actually see everything on my screen too, since the viewing angles are so good and the text is so large on all these still-not-screen-size-optimize d apps.
