American Facebook users spend way more time on the social network than exercising. Mark Zuckerberg said today on Facebook’s Q2 earnings call that “people on Facebook in the US spend around 40 minutes each day using our service”, while the CDC recommends Americans exercise 21 minutes a day but only 20% of people meet that goal.

Not too bad, and not entirely worse but Facebook can see the trend and find a way to up user's engagement in the US. There need to be incentives to make people want to stay longer on the social platform and I think I'm loving the recent approach the guys at Facebook at taking, like the Buy feature as well as the ability to save links which can been seen by an account owner alone. Very much unlike twitter and that's great!
