Maximum PC: Microsoft has come under fire for a new advertisement promoting Windows systems over those inferior Macs that lack touchscreens. Well, you can tap the display, but nothing will happen, and somehow that will hinder a woman's ability to plan out her wedding. Oh yes, did we mention? Microsoft's ad for a touch-friendly all-in-one PC running Windows 8 is targeted at women, and the way it goes about it, some are crying foul.
Microsoft is laying off more employees, a new round after they cut thousands last year. It seems like many big tech companies are doing the same.
Amidst the AI frenzy of 2023, major players like Google, Microsoft, and Meta are in the spotlight, launching their own generative AI systems.
Microsoft has made it easy for iPhone users to check their mobile updates on Windows-enabled computers.
"Well, you can tap the display, but nothing will happen, and somehow that will hinder a woman's ability to plan out her wedding. Oh yes, did we mention?"
That just strikes me as a BS way of examining this. In the commercial, it's pretty blatant that such a feature is just a nice extra for usability since it can be held like a tablet or with m/kb. Nothing about that strikes me as "making a statement" of how useless a woman's wedding planning will be without touch controls.
