Petition calling for Verizon to drop contracts gains momentum

The Verge: A petition asking Verizon to follow the lead of its smaller rival T-Mobile in cutting mobile contracts has gained significant momentum after it recorded over 30,000 signatures in one day. Well I'm just gonna tell you this.........

I have had OOma for 5 years. No problem. No home phone bill.

I dropped ATT last October and have had Republic Wireless for cell service. 20.00 a month for unlimited everything isn't bad. Its great actually, you just have to use their old @$$ gingerbread phone.

For the past month I have been using my GS3 with GrooveIP and a Walmart 3G mifi when not at home. I use wifi when I'm home. Works great and I'm thinking about dropping Republic Wireless because I can use whatever phone I want as long as its Android. I only wish I could use my Lumia 920 but there is no app like this on WP8.

So screw Verizon, screw ATT, screw Tmobile. GrooveIP and google voice is my future. The 45.00 for the 3g 4gb will probably last me all year and then some.

But, no, I'm not patting myself on the back. I'm just letting people know that there are options out there, unless you like being bent over.
