Kickstarter launched to secure funding to build a real life Death Star

The Verge: A Kickstarter has been launched to secure funding to build a fully functioning open-source Death Star.

In November 2012 members of the American public petitioned the US government to ask them to secure funding to build a Death Star. Obama’s administration declined to agree to build it but explained the primary reason as being the financial cost.

But the plan hasn’t been forgotton. A Kickstarter has been launched to secure £20,000,000 to build a Death Star which he says is because "We need to protect ourselves from threats far far away so lets build a death star." (Culture)

£20,000,000? That won't be enough and they won't be able to raise the stretch goal. Question is then. What would they do with the 20 million?

Rofl.

Why?

They should build a base on the moon, but as we've never been there. That'll be hard.

Ok, then they should attempt to get a man on the moon.

Thats beyond stupid. Also twenty million isnt even close to enough to build a fully functioning death star. It would take billions to build such a thing.

It costs more to build a battleship how stupid and all the aliens will have to do is watch star wars to learn how to destroy it pml.

There will be some saying "Oh isn't this funny and quirky?", to which I say no. No it isn't. It's stupid and ridiculous beyond words.
Anybody donating to this deserves a punch in the face for being so blindingly stupid. Put the money towards a charity and do some damn good with it.
