DualShockers - PlayStation Now is a very cool idea. It was welcomed with enthusiasm by PlayStation fans when it was announced at CES back in February. Unfortunately now the wind has radically changed, and the service mostly raises eyebrows and triggers irritated frowns. The pricing model is nearly the sole culprit of this downturn in popularity.
Sony games on non-Sony hardware? Can it really be possible?!
Ty Pendlebury of CNET reviews the Sony BDP-S5500.
Sony's PlayStation Now game streaming service will be available on select Samsung Smart TVs in the first half of 2015.
The pricing are incredibly ridiculous, i mean they are charging $19.99 for a 90 Days Rental on games that can be bought for $15 or less.
I'll admit, I'm a PS fanboy, but damn! What the hell were they thinking?!
I really don't understand everyones reaction. The prices are very competitive(blockbuster in the uk use to charge the quivalent of 10 bucks for like a day or 2). This is a rental service and most gamers finish games within a week.
Why post this to Techspy? It clearly belongs on N4G.
They won't have a market at those prices. What everyone should do is not touch PS NOW until the prices are adjusted accordingly. By doing that at some point, they need to reevaluate their prices, regardless if they don't regulate the price of 3rd parties games, they need to set a standard.
