That title sounds like word soup. "Four brilliant three" is pure nonsense, but sounds even worse next to "De-Googlify".

Re: article, can't say I blame people for wanting a bit more anonymity sometimes. Google probably knows me better than I do at this point, but I still like to get away now and again. Adding in Ad Blockers and the Privacy Badger tools can help sites from cross tracking you using your unique browser fingerprint and tracking cookies a...

He has a "theory". It is stated as such right in the story. Can we call Religion a theory? lol

I think they were going for "more like Alphabet", given that Google has its fingers in many pies. LeEco also bought out Vizio recently, works on self driving cars, smart bikes and so on. That's a bit more Google/Alphabet-ish than Apple as the latter has a relatively narrow focus in comparison to the former.

It seems incredibly unlikely the extra camera will be enough to enable room-scale tracking the same way Vive does. And honestly, you'd think they'd have talked a bit about that improvement if that were indeed the case. In this case, it seems like the Vive is going to outdo the competition on pricing here, with their same all-in price of $799 including room-scale tracking. I'm shocked that it appears Valve is going to beat Oculus at its own game.

I don't think you can claim "innovation" on the iPhone processors, unless everyone else who has done big.Little kind of processors and incremental power bumps also gets the "innovator" badge handed to them. I also find the audio move less about them innovating and more about them being able to claim certification money on something that has been a free and ubiquitous standard...and honestly, hasn't run into any technical hurdles making it worth replacing.

My bigger issue is the previewers claim: "They sound pretty good. They sound like Apple EarPods, but wireless". If they sound only as "good" as general EarPods, then these things are overpriced garbage.

Ok, they are trolling us at this point. I think they just want to keep releasing more insane specs until we finally go...oookay, now you're really full of it.

Next release in 2019: A full suite of 4 Xeon based CPUs, watercooled with a QuantomVoid PicoPumps using liquefied dry ice, 128 GB of RAM, 2TB NVMe in RAID 0, a Titan XPC and powered by 4 different power sources, including a self contained micro-reactor.

He's just saying Apple hasn't innovated on the design or function of the iPhone in a while, so there isn't anything new to see today either. I'm inclined to agree, but the phone market is stagnating quite a bit all around. Nothing but refinements to perfected formulas at this point. Room to innovate appears to be shrinking, but it does feel like Samsung has been pushing & trying new things in ways Apple hasn't.

Wonder if Apple will have something ou...

Wow, this article is among the mostly poorly written I've read in quite a while. I imagine English is their second language, but still...quite painful.

On the one hand I agree, slippery slope is a real thing and exists. On the other hand, I feel this is a slippery slope they could have mitigated the slip on. Say "We will unlock this phone on this occasion only. We understand the risk of not unlocking far outweighs unlocking, and we will hold any key/software in our possession. We may choose to unlock phones in the future, but only if we deem the situation as equal or greater to this situation; one of national security and possible risk ...
