Seems like a mid range phone like this would be smart of them. Not everybody needs a mega super phone
I think that this is good for the company. Outside investors don't tend to think long term about a company and nor do they really care for its outlook. They just want some short term profits and into the next one they go.
I think the specs are pretty nice. I don't think we can expect to see a revolutionary tablet from anyone and instead will get gradual improvements

It might not be a flagship phone but you can't just made flagship phones unless you're Apple so it's good to see them build a more midrange phone.

Not really, most consoles have never been backwards compatible. The PS2 to PS1 was really an anomaly.
