PCs aren't dead, they're microwaves

PC World - Last week's news wasn't generous to PCs. In fact, half the Internet was ready to eulogize our beloved black boxes after market research showed that computer shipments fell by double-digit percentages in the first quarter. Stick a fork in 'em, the common wisdom declared. PCs are done.

But nothing could be further from the truth. PCs aren't dead—they're microwaves. But not for much longer.

It's often funny how some people forget where we came from. PC's started it all, it would be stupid to turn our back on them.

I love my rig, but truth of the matter is; With all these new devices I use it a lot less then I use to. 5-10 years back I was on the PC all the time, now with phones, consoles, tablets most of the activities I would use for PC are now done on their. Used less? For sure! But dead? Not in a long shot.

PC's will not die until size of hardware becomes completely irrelivent to capabilities, Good luck with that ever happening.

You may be able to surf the web and check facebook fine with a tablet or smartphone but they will never come close for anything graphical like games. You cannot kill something without the ability to duplicate ALL of its capabilities.
