"Today AMD announced the existence (and rapidly approaching release) of their latest flagship graphics card, the Radeon HD 7970, and it’s packed with a slew of new and improved technologies"
i love amd cards but wish they handled 3d better
I've got agree with you there. All the reviews I have seen so far don't look that good to me I was expecting a bit more and the price is a bit to hot for me. http://www.guru3d.com/artic... http://www.hardwarecanucks.... http://www.overclockers.com... http://www.anandtech.com/sh... Plus to get the full potential out of the HD 7970 you will need a new mobo with PCIe 3.0
I think ill wait for the new Nvidia cards. The Gtx 480 is still quite sufficient For 2011.
Its 20 percent quicker than a GTX580 overall. A jump, but not massive and there aren't too many games around that hurt 6970/GTX570 @ 1080p. I guess if you have to have the latest and greatest you'll get one. I never expected a big jump from AMD though, i expect to see a big boost from the next Nvidia cards and AMD to release a bunch of revised editions of these later too.
Pretty insane, was expecting at lot more, however drivers will come so it should get better. Battlefield 3 is making this HD 7970 look terrible, barely better than GTX 580. At VDKok, don't see the point in PCIE 3 at the moment, I just thinking is just BS to get people to purchase no Motherboards. Just look at this comparison http://www.hardwarecanucks.... Looking forward to see what Kepler will be like, AMD get the drivers out.
Thanks for posting that link, it eased my worries about getting a new motherboard.
