if they did , intell would become the only pc cpu manufacturer

why would apple allow chips they own in competitors products

i hope this is nothing but rumor

depends on how you define pc. recent survey shows 40% the web-surfing activity is from mobile device which is dominated by ARM.

anw, this rumor is not making any sense. apple focusing on mobile platform wont affected much by amd.

A company that overprices every single product buying a company that is known for competitive pricing and great performance/price ratio. To quote the first post, god please NO!

Agreed, apple would never do that. Apple focuses on buying technologies and technology creators - particularly software related. They shy away from hardware manufacturers. Which is why Apple still manufactures most of it's products from components made by sony, samsung & siemens even though they are the competition. A primarily software company can pull out easily, a hardware manufacturer would suffer crippling losses. Someone who sells hardware made by others always gains - especially at the margin apple sells its products.
