AMD+NVIDIA Multi-GPU DirectX12 Benchmark: R9 390X + GTX 970 in 'SLIFire'

GamersNexus: "For this benchmark, we tested explicit multi-GPU functionality by using AMD and nVidia cards at the same time, something we're calling “SLIFire” for ease. The benchmark specifically uses MSI R9 390X Gaming 8G and MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G cards vs. 2x GTX 970s, 1x GTX 970, and 1x R9 390X for baseline comparisons."

Ditch the AMD crap.. try a 980+Titan X+980ti :)))))))))

Anomander2981d ago

With Asynchronous computing enabled in testing The 980Ti lags behind by 30-33% compared to the R8 FuryX with DX12. I wouldn't ditch any AMD stuff since they seem to have the hardware to take advantage of DX12

Nvidia is fully capable of DX12, Ashes is partner with AMD... no shit sherlock

Anomander2980d ago

Nividia just announced that only their 900 series is capable of Asynchronous compute with DX12. Yes, Nvidia is DX12 capable I never said otherwise. as for Oxide being biased if you read the article you would have seen that they shared their source code with both parties. "[W]e have created a special branch where not only can vendors see our source code, but they can even submit proposed changes. That is, if they want to suggest a change our branch gives them permission to do so…

This branch is synchronized directly from our main branch so it’s usually less than a week from our very latest internal main software development branch. IHVs are free to make their own builds, or test the intermediate drops that we give our QA."

As for DX12 the best way to run it will be to run it with both AMD and Nividia. Now to pick up a bigger PSU so I can get another GPU in my rig.
