samsung smartphones have gotten boring. from the design to the features (ones that are useless to the everyday consumer)
seriously, fingerprint scanner? heart-rate monitor? and these were advertised features. the whole UI was more of the same too.

no surprise people showed less interest.

All phones are getting boring.

It's a phone lol

Highe end pc is where power and features matter to me.

Why would I wand a 12core phone that levitates and orders pizza?

Phones are boring and my $100 android plays YouTube just as good as the new iPhone 6 lol

I do want a Windows 10 10.1 inch intel tablet though.

Agreed; phones aren't interesting or surprising anymore. I've been happy with generic Android phones (well, generic versions of LG/Samsung phones) for the last 4 or 5 years. They're all powerful enough to get the job done now, and I'm not interested in those giant phones that don't/barely fit in your pocket.

@silent
premium handsets arent like those of the past. back in the day your nokia N70 with symbian software could do stuff plain java phones couldn't so it was worth paying more for them. simnple things too, like internet browsing, email, etc which has become the norm now.

Hopefully The GS6 will be as big a step forward as the GS3 was.

the question is whats the point of 8-core phone with 8GB ram if android still only needs dual core 1GB ram to run perfectly. 80% of the time you not even using the other cores.

my suggestion is that as great as hardware is, they need to work on software features thats usable everyday. whoever nails that will be the next big mobile company.

ajax173374d ago

More cores = better battery life though

Are you kidding me? I have a Hansspree Hannspad T71 QUAD Core tablet with 1GB ram and the thing is bloody awful. The last time I saw anything this slow was when I had an Intel 100MHz computer about 15 years ago. Android needs at least 2GB ram because its a damn resource hog. I also have an ACER A500 with 1GB ram and android rapes the ram. I have a samsung Galaxy Tab 4 with 1.5GB ram and it gets by but still needs that 512mb more ram.

My brother has an Ipad 2 with a dual core CPU and 1GB ram and IOS is a whole lot better. His tablet flies along because IOS is a lot more optomised. I still wouldn't pay the for the insanely overpriced APPLE hardware.

PR_FROM_OHIO3374d ago

I guess all the commercials bashing IPhones haven't paid off lol!!!!

colonel1793374d ago

I actually think that was the problem in the first place. They should focus on their own brand.

Nilla_Nate3374d ago

I think the smartphone craze is really dying down. Excitement was at a high level back in 2010-2011. Now all smartphones kinda seem the same and the Samsung phones are littered with pointless features.

steve30x3373d ago

Most smartphones are bloated with pointless features. I think a phone should be used as a phone and ANDROID or IOS should be left to tablets of 7" and over. All my android devices have all the bloatware stripped from them down to basic Android and the apps I need.

PR_FROM_OHIO3373d ago

Dying down?? Not for Apple bc the iPhone 6 is breaking every smartphone record In terms of sales imaginable!! And it's not slowing done lol!

bahabeast3373d ago

I think people finally realized that Samsung phones are garbage. Loaded with unnecessary crab people never use and why dose the charger port always go bad???
They are trying to make things better but it mite be too late because SONY, LG, MOTOROLA, APPLE, HTC, all make quality phone even lesser brands are making really nice phone ZTE, BLU, ALCATEL, EXT
