Hailo matches Uber by letting other apps use its cab-hailing features

Engadget - Uber and Hailo are forever playing catch-up with each other, and this week is no exception. Just hours after Uber announced it's now allowing developers to bake Uber features into their apps, Hailo's following suit by opening up its own platform. Information on ride availability, the time a car will take to get to you and, of course, the ability to hail one are among the first features third-party developers can make use of.

So when will these so called "start-ups" (valued in billions, mind you) start paying something back to the municipalities they operate in ? I mean - taxicabs do, why not ride-sharing schemers ?

I went to China to visit my relative. Apparently they have apps where you can call a taxi to your location, enter their taxi account number, voila the ride is paid.

I'm pretty sure the hundreds of thousands of entrepreneurs these startups make out of ridesharing drivers brings in plenty of tax money, local jobs, productive economies, and reduced DUIs. All taxicabs do is bring money in for wealthy fleet owners in leasing fees. Nice try, taxi robo-commenter
