but the temps of the R9 290X are 95 degrees which is a shame as i really wanted that 512 memory bus

you get what you pay for... the less money typically the crappier.

worldwidegaming3862d ago

Pretty much but then that's what you get for a company that believes you will pay the premium price.

What's sad is that many people are uneducated and want to be ignorant when it comes to PC gaming. When ever you talk about it on N4G people get mad and lash out without presenting facts.

You see Consoles stay at a fixed price but PC parts continue to get cheaper and more powerful and start to present a better value for longevity! When Maxwell comes out this will be considered mid to low end and everybody's happy.

To be fair, not all of us console guys are ignorant to what PC parts are capable of doing or think its always "2000.00 for gaming rig!!!"

For me, personally, I just enjoy not only the ease of never doing tear downs and upgrades but also the exclusives that I get using a Sony console. Since I don't play much MP and I really don't like RTS or MMOs I find games like Infamous, Uncharted and Little Big Planet to be what I can play for hours at a time.

I've gamed on PCs before and can see that with them you do indeed get much better visuals and frame rates but the trade off is dealing with drivers, more complicated installs, moving the PC into my living room to play on the TVthen back to the den where my office is and worst of all, always seeing a new part that is a little better and wanting to buy it which always leads to cutting all power, popping open the case and doing some surgery. I just ddon't have to deal with that on a console.

johny53862d ago

I see what you mean, but the consoles of today are not like yester year! They too need constant upgrading, large patches for games that some times PC gamers get first!

I don't want people to think that I spam but I posted on a few articles a list of parts to make a very good PC with every essential item for under $599 and close to the price of a XBOX ONE! It's built with a 8core processor and a AMD 7870 and comes with 2 free games.

When you buy an XBOX you expect to get some games with it Plus Xbox Live which is an added cost right out the door! With PC gaming you usually get those games free and you don't have to pay for online play. Most people choose to ignore those facts when presented to them!

Yet the bottom line is Johny that the PC still cannot play the AAA Sony exclusives. I see no point in owning an eXB0Ne if you can play most the same games on PC.

As for the issue of console versus PC. I love to play console MP and knowing that both players have the same advantage regards to hardware being equal thus there are only skill and Internet connection that makes the difference. I hate to be owned by an Yuppy r'tard that got his super rig free from his rich dad with the obvious advantages such powerfull PC's have above all other players.

Everything is not all equal in PC world!!

Somebody3862d ago

@Campy - complicated instals? With Steam? It only asked you where you want to instal the game and then push next. That's complicated? As for drivers, there is a new one for my card available and it's constantly flashing to get me to instal it but I'm not forced to. My games still run nicely even without the new driver.

I know the trouble of carrying the PC back and forth but I gave up since everybody else in my family also use the TV and I feel like a douche hogging it all to myself. Might as well buy a TV for my den then.

@5eruiosly
As for the console offering the same advantage to every player will be thrown out of the window when console F2P titles start to flood in.

F2P is the main focus for next gen consoles and the one with the credit card will always be on top. Good luck with your equal hardware and bandwith against those Yuppies and their fathers' credit cards.

steve30x3862d ago

I had to laugh at the complicated installs when 99% of games installers install everything you need. you dont have to do anything extra or complicated and driver installs are dead simple.

Kurylo3d3861d ago

not to mention the fact that i havent upgraded my hardware for the last 6 years... and it still runs the games like battlefield 3 on near the highest quality lol...
