this is good news.

shows that Apple cant go around bullying the small guy.

as for the name, that company could sue for billions claiming that people could associate iphone with their label and not apple. lol

Apple will have to give samsungs billion to these guys. :p round and round we go.

Good news? Apple owns that name everywhere else in the world pretty much. Really the consumers of Brazil loose, because they are the ones that will be stuck with those shit android handsets instead of a inclusive brand that the rest of the world gets.

Apple wasn't bullying the small guy, the small guy picked up the name before apple moved in, trying to capitalize and hopefully use Apples branding to their advantage.

Stop with the Fanboy shit, and look at things logically damnit, if you can't do that, post on N4G.

"Apple wasn't bullying the small guy, the small guy picked up the name before apple moved in, trying to capitalize and hopefully use Apples branding to their advantage."

did you even bother to read the article or did you just read the headline and my comment?

from the article coz you too lazy to click links
"The ruling is the result of a local company, Gradiente Eletronica, registering the name in 2000, six years before the US firm."

explain to me how they would choose a name 6 years before Apple even thought of giving their phones a name to ride apples success? and if you dont know, 6 years in tech terms is ages. do you know what nintendo will be naming their console 6 years from now? any ideas? yes? no?

just coz iphone is synonymous with the apple brand doesnt mean its theirs to keep worldwide regardless that they copied the name years later.

as for the consumers being stuck with the crappy android devices, they not. this company isnt doing to apple what apple did to samsung by banning all iphones from brazil. so the consumers still have the option to by the Apple device.

from now on i suggest you start reading the articles fully before you start typing BS because thats the logical thing to do. and if you cant do that, i think maybe its you that should stop posting comments.
