Tablet Display Shipments Finally Top Notebooks in October

Maximum PC: It’s been a slow build over the last several years, but for the first time ever, NPD is reporting that tablet displays are shipping in greater quantities than those destined for notebooks. This doesn’t mean notebook computers are dead by any stretch of the imagination, but it does bring to light an interesting trend that is only likely to accelerate. Looks like the 1st dual screen laptops which were created mmmm... from 2000 - 2005.

Let me think who thought of the idea, aahh M$ and IBM.

Was it a success no.

What happened to it, it joined the list of failed tablets/laptop hybrids.

Q Why bring it back?

A. To see if companies like M$ and IBM can revive shit products from the past to sell like the iPad.

Fail.

Back then it was expensive. Now it's cheaper to implement and final products are much thinner because of the super efficient ulv processors and screen tech.

At least with the new wave of hybrids you have a full blown computer vs a shitty hampered ipad.

I checked out some Windows 8 convertables and touch screen laptops. I'm not gonna lie. The touch interface freaking rocks. Having the power of the PC with the accessibility of a tablet is nice.
