I have used the app-store and it's like any other app store. It won't replace Steam, it is merely a threat.

As far as I can tell it doesn't have any game chat features or anything like that to compete with Steam. However, $1-3 games can severely cripple Steam as the customer free time is shifted to doing that instead on multiple devices from desktop, tablet to smart phone.

I don't know exactly what will be in XBL for Windows as the app itself doesn't do much right now so we know little based on MS reveals.

Any game with GFWL is always a pain in the balls. Don't think steam has anything to worry about

I'm sorry but that is the largest amount of nonsense I have heard in a while, sure you may have some points but let me break it down for you. Seeing as how you haven't tried the consumer preview yourself.

-Steam will not be banned, I already have it on my laptop running W8 and it runs fine heck I've seen a performance improvement in many of my games

-How are they putting those devs out of business? Heck the marketplace may even bing much more business to people like Re-logic and the sorts because their games are fun not hardware intensive and will be seen by many more consumers. And a large majority of successful devs these years have been on iOS android etc. (Ex. Rovio Half Brick and Imangi)

-Maybe but I doubt it seeing as how they will be competing against the cheaper games and also do to the larger consumer base it will be easier to sell enough copies of their games to turn a profit.

-Don't have anything for that

-If you can do ad-hoc p2p and host games on your device right now I'm sure that their will still be private servers, its just up to the dev.

- I don't see where you got that from, I mean you can't make a custom ARM device but ARM is only for tablets and soon maybe netbooks, but you've never really had an option to make a custom built one. And I've installed windows 8 on my desktop already which custom built so i don't know where your coming from with that.

-Also GFWL is dead,the reason why it was horrid was because it was not baked into the system or optimized. In windows 8 it is just as good as PSN, XBL and whatever else. The worst parts of GFWL were logging (you are always logged in now) DRM (there is the same amount of DRM as installing an app on your iphone) and performance which as I said earlier is fine.

Also you may say that they will make us pay for online, do you see apple or android doing that? Well they will be the competition and and if they don't the MS won't either.

Oh and one thing to add that they are doing right is each game is required to have a demo or trial. Which is something steam should have done on a platform that really could've used it.
