Apple Puts Back All Eligible Products On EPEAT Registry

Last week, Apple announced that it would be removing all existing products from the “Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool” (EPEAT) and will also no longer be submitting future products to EPEAT for certification. EPEAT measures the environmental friendliness of various electronic devices, and acts as a reference by many organizations when purchasing electronic devices. Many consumers expressed concern over Apple’s withdrawal, and in one case, San Francisco said that it would not be purchasing Macs without EPEAT certification. However, it seems that today, Apple announced that it will reverse its decision through an open letter from Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering, Bob Mansfield.
