"there are online forums discussing the problem dating back to 2009"
So a few 1000 people from an entire 6 years complain about it and you've given it a "-gate" controversy name? Well that's not presumptuous at all...
How many products with retina displays have been sold? What kind of defect rate are we talking about here?
Reddit is working diligently to lose as much popularity as possible lately, isn't it?
Barrier of entry is lower, but it's still a considerable barrier. Decent VR headsets are not cheap to produce.
Ultimately, most people will stick with a TV/monitor because it's convenient and straight forward.
What is it with companies adding such garbage to their laptops?
Like it or not, she's one of the most popular artists right now. Her work alone no doubt pays the bills of many, many Apple employees. And no artist wants to be paid nothing to a third of a penny for people partaking of their work.
And seriously, it really isn't Apple's place to stream content and pretend like they owe no one any royalties.
Did they really think that they could get away with giving away paid content and not paying royalties without threats of legal action from the creators/labels?
I certainly hope that one day we can proactively deter severe weather.
I bet that there will not be a hundredth as big of a push for these to be insurance mandated as the ones for women.
Obama has nothing to do with the FCC.
I'm okay if Kickstarters fail, but if you use most of the money funded on personal expenses (realistic living expenses are fine; that's often a big part of projects, especially small ones) from an overfunded project that promised copyright protected characters as game pieces, you need to be reprimanded.

Thanks.
(The list of tested devices doesn't lead to anything, though, just the main Google Cardboard page. I think Google "modernized" the page into b...
Can you do this with any Android device, or does it have to be a phone with 5.1.1 on it, etc?
Does it work with tablets?
What content is there for this thing?
