they would have a shit ton of work to do, massive bidding since verizon and the other providers practically own the landscape. and fios is pushing faster speeds out every 6 months or so.

Fiber needs to keep targeting big, yet smaller, cities before targeting big ones like this. The service providers basically own these areas and won't let Google step in. They rather milk low speeds and fees before actually taking big steps.

These providers pay government people to lock down areas and prevent Google from ever stepping foot there without dumping loads of money out first.
