Sony's stock rose almost 10%(!) after Microsoft revealed the Xbox One. That's a rather substantial gain in roughly 1 day.
Pretty much my thoughts exactly. Last I checked these were GAMING consoles. Other features are nice and all, but I'm in this for the games, not cable/TV.
Um...yeah. My statement stands and is true. If Windows 8 had the same UI as 7, no one would be bitching. Under the hood, Windows 8 is simply better than 7 in just about every way. You can try to argue otherwise, but you'll be wrong, and blue in the face.
This comes from actual hands-on experience, unlike many people who "demo" Windows 8 at their local Best Buy or something and make a decision based on that...
Windows 8.1 should be cleaning up release issues with W8, as well as tweaking/adding features. And it will be free unlike early rumors.
Windows 8 has been proven to be faster, more efficient, and safer than Windows 7 and XP. The ONLY reason people don't like it is the UI (Start Screen). Even without a $5 third-party "Start Menu" app, it's literally 1 click to get to the desktop.
I can't tell you how many times family members have installed AVG, and then installed MSE...sigh.
As opposed to Facebook? Or the internet in general?
I have to admit, I'm impressed with the new layout. I've gotten to use it for a few days now and it's pretty fluid. I *might* actually start using it more often now.
People who are loyal to Apple are generally lifers. We're talking iPhone, iPad, Mac computers, and even iPods (still?). Samsung, on the other hand has a hand in generally every electronic market there is, from camera's, TVs, and phones, to home appliances...
In terms of sheer profit, Apple will be hard to beat with their large mark-ups. If people are willing to pay those (ridiculous) prices, Samsung can do little to compete, besides moving more units than Apple.
I'm a PS3 guy actually, got rid of my 306 about 2 years ago. I've tried Libre on a C2D with 2GB of RAM and it's not..."slow", I may have used the wrong description. The product overall feels "clunky". That may be a better way to describe it. Again, and as always, "to each their own".
Thank you blogger87. No, I don't get paid to "spread "lies"". I have Office 2010 because I got it cheap through my work. It's faster, has more options, and is more user-friendly than LibreOffice. I've tried LO, gave it a fair chance (ran it for roughly 1 month), and even with it being free, I still purchased Office 2010 (heavily discounted) because it's simply better.
"You mean a usable UI that has been the standard of every office pro...
Libre is slow as hell and the UI is just terribly dated.
Top scoring eh? Good luck to whoever can spam the most. *rolls eyes @ contest*
18 days left and $13,500 to go. Seems possible. I really hope it happens as this looks amazing.
I love books. Used to work in a library back in high school and I still love books. But aside from saving trees, the convenience of having all of my books in the palm of my hand is nice. From a business perspective, you have little-to-no inventory. More profit at little to no extra cost? Sign me up!
And checking the prices online, they are relatively the same as buying a paperback (about $7.99). Now, I think that's $1-2 too much considering you're buying a digital pro...
Yeah...you said "a bit", which usually indicates not a huge or substantial increase. Calm yo self. I was merely making sure the understanding was that Sony's stock rose almost 10%.
