Data transfer at the speed of lightening

If the US library of Congress contains over 10 terabytes of information (1 followed by 13 zeroes), it would now be possible to transfer the entire data in the library in just 17 minutes.

Making this gigantic task look simple, is the essence of the new technology that Intel, the chip maker, has developed called Light Peak technology (LPT). It operates at lightning speeds of 10 billion bits a second of data transfer, claims Intel.
