It must be difficult to understand the concept of encryption for the uneducated, I guess. It is not possible to prevent users from simply adding a layer of their own for sensitive communications. Nerfing the big companies' encryption schemes won't give authorities any more access to savvy criminal enterprises. It will only give them access to people who don't deserve the snooping.
