President Barack Obama told the world that everyone should learn how to code. And now he’s putting his money where his mouth is.
What a way to send a message to the world how important coding is these days.
I know Basic and Logo. Yeah... I should probably learn a newer one.
Try to learn Php and python.. Both very interesting and in demand currently. Basic and logo was taught to us in like 3rd or 4th grade if I remember it right.
I doubt they're going start off 3rd graders on PHP.
Basic and Logo was taught to us in 3rd or 4th grade, which was about 1985... As for PHP, who knows... Someday kids will be learning Esoteric.
Damn you're old lol. I dunno what they use now but I doubt they'd throw PHP in their faces at such a young age.
"Damn you're old lol." Funny... I, in my late 30s, find myself to be in the prime of my life.
@Chris - Don't take me too seriously btw (re: age)
Learn whatever is closest to what your field may be. I feel like every one who codes should have at least some basic grasp of C++ but that's just me.
I think kids should learn basic then upgrade to assembly routines within basic as a foundation for assembly code. It's a great shame that the home games computer is now the console as it removed the facility for learning while playing (ie typing in a game from a magazine listing then modifying it).
i hear bush tried to write one once. 10 print "hello" 20 goto 30. ^_^
Please quote the source from where you heard this...as myself I am unable to find an authentic source regarding this information.
cant tell if youre being sarcastic or serious....
$10 says someone else wrote it and he "Signed" his name to it.
20 says a kid sat next to him and taught him how to write it.
Quit sucking the obama teat dude
make programming a mandatory class in highschools, and subsidize STEM degrees (technical, two year, collegiate programs). Someone shouldn't have to go into massive debt if they want to study computer science, engineering, etc.
first US president
Programming is supposed to become a choice subject in around my place. Is it really a good idea to teach everyone how to code though? I mean if everyone can do it what happens to the people who worked their asses off for degrees in third level education ?
