The Future Post: Google has not made efforts to produce an iOS 6 Google Maps app as yet, nor do they plan to just yet.
Damn, those maps are accurate! /s
I really can't tell a difference between Google maps and Apple maps. They both get me where I need to go with no issues.
As much as I value your opinion, there is no denying that there are major flaws in in the system. It's not the entire mapping system that is faulty, but there are bugs.
To be completely honest, I haven't had a single issue with it. Maybe it's just my area.
same here, no issues yet. I'm sure google maps wasn't perfect when it launched. These maps are through tom tom too. I prefer that over google
Once I don't get lost going to the nail salon, I'm good.
"“We haven’t done anything yet with Google Maps,” Schmidt told reporters in Tokyo today. Apple would “have to approve it. It’s their choice,” Schmidt said, declining to say if the Mountain View, California-based company submitted an application to Apple for sale through its App Store." http://www.bloomberg.com/ne...
They haven't made or submitted an ios 6 equivalent yet...they are waiting Apple's approval before they do. If they submitted it, why would he decline to.comment on the submission's status? My 2 cents.
apple screwed over a lot of users because of their petty BS
I can see it getting better (like google maps did) but what were they thinking. I know pushing out google might seem like a smart move but in reality it has ruined a perfectly functional feature. I used to use google maps all the time on my phone (obviously not since the update). I barely touch the new maps thing because it is awful. Apple are playing catch up but do I really want to have this bad feature for x amount of years. not really. Also what i find annoying is the inability to delete apple pre loaded stuff. I have two folders filled with stuff I do not use just sitting their on my phone.
google maps took 15 years and lots of resources for google to bring it to where it is today Apple made a stupid move. Yh but most phones have bloatware in some form
The problem is that people aren't willing to wait so long (years) for it to work (sans the fanboys who think Apple do no wrong).
You can just go to google maps on your iphone and add it as an app to the home screen. Not the "EXACT" same but it still works perfectly fine.
the whole point of apple maps is so that you dont use google maps.
if what you doing was a solution, Apple would have been cheap and instead of investing billions in making their own map app, they could have just made a bookmark in your browser for google maps.
There's a map app called "Waze". It's pretty good and has a type of mini game built in where it keeps track of how much you drive and you level up if you beat other drivers around you. Plus has a social function where other users can report traffic, accidents, cops radaring, and other stuff. http://itunes.apple.com/us/... It's also available for Android. https://play.google.com/sto...
When I had Android I used Waze, would direct you around problems and show traffic flow. Miss it since going over to WP7
Link to an alternative GPS to help people out for Android and Apple, get disagrees. Wow, stay classy Technospy.
I agree, although some users may have seen this as spam. But as ever, disagrees will happen.
They should be using Garmin instead of Tom Tom
I've had 0 problems with the maps app, i actually prefer Tom Tom over most others. Maybe i'm in the minority.
The works almost done for the jailbreak port.
My personal favourite is MapQuest. Not really sure about the 3D aspect of it but it's excellent in terms of getting directions.
Yea, I have also had no issues using Apple Maps so far. And as for Google Maps, you can use them on the iPhone, right NOW. You just have to use the browser.... I've got the mobile link right on my home page... maps.google.com
