You are not being forced to upgrade to Windows 10
Don't really see the problem, it's offering a free upgrade rather than a paid product. I understand some of the concens over privacy but the average user bleeds more info daily through their web browsers, Facebook, mobile phones and bank cards. I cautiously upgraded my laptop because it ran Windows 8.1 and I wanted rid of it but liked Windows 10 enough to upgrade both my Windows 7 desktop PC's.
I don't support people being rude to their support team but there seems to be a certain arrogance with those involved with the OR of "well you schmucks are so desperate for this we'll do what we like"
I'd like to see Apple back up its claims about the amount of PC users switching to the iPad. Can it compete with a Surface or Surface Pro? no if course it can't. Why would I switch from a PC to a glorified iPad and hope that there are some watered down app versions of the full Windows programs I used when I can buy a Surface and run those full programs? With more 2-in-1 devices becoming available the iPad becomes less relevant and its OS more dated.
I was really interested in this device until I read that it didn't have an SD Card slot, that's a deal breaker for me.
Why apologise? It was an experiment, its not Microsoft's fault that it learnt the very worst from humanity. If anything this is a PR disaster for Twitter. Its just celebrated its 10th birthday and the media was already full of negative stories about it and the issues with online trolls and bullies and now this.
I'd like to see some stats from Apple proving their claim of PC users are buying an iPad Pro in place of their Windows PC/Laptop etc. because I find it hard to believe. If you're doing anything more than just browsing or reading email then the iPad is limited compared to something like the Surface which can run full Windows applications. I still use my 3rd Gen iPad just for browsing but for anything more than that I use my laptop or desktop PC. As my iPAD is starting to slow down quit...
They will sell loads of their budget handsets on a wave of popularity for taking on the government when really these tech firms only care about users privacy when it means someone else might get access to the data they use to pass on to their commercial partners for advertising etc.
Its a step in the right direction for Microsoft. After Steve Ballmers scattergun approach to wanting to Microsoft to be everywhere without a clearly planned strategy Microsoft now seem to have aligned each of their divisions under one banner. Windows 8 was an awful product, Microsoft tried to take a desktop OS and shoe-horn it into the mobile space but it looks like now they have learned from that experience and Windows 10 will be a true cross platform OS.
Now that Microsoft ...
So damn true, look at the family he married into
Really? I find the PS4's UI clean and simple to use.
This isn't really anything new, the computer and printers saw many job losses in offices, typing pools, switchboards etc. The car industry has been shedding labour in favour of automated lines for decades
Its an odd decision although I hated Windows 8 and couldn't wait to get rid of it on the laptop I use for work. I took the plunge and found that I really liked it. In the past I have tried the test versions of Windows in the run up to release but never bothered with Windows 10. I was that impressed with it I decided to do mine and my wife's desktop gaming PC's which ran Windows 7. I thought I'd cling to Windows 7 for as long as possible with it being the last of the old style ...
Disappointed with the high price, much higher than what was touted and even worse when you factor in that a lot of people will have to upgrade with a costly graphics card too. I really like the idea of having one but may sit this first generation of headsets out until there is a proper standard established and the bugs are ironed out.
That's an impressive figure, three of those 200 million installs are in my home. I upgraded my laptop first as it came with Windows 8.1 and I hate Windows 8 and quickly went back to Windows 7 on my desktop PC and thought that's where it would stay but I was so impressed with what Microsoft did with Windows 10 I did the upgrade on mine and my wife's desktop.
Facebook essentially controlling what content people see is NOT a good thing
I was happy with Windows 7 on my desktop gaming PC but took the plunge with Windows 10 on my laptop as it was Windows 8.1 and I hated Windows 8 and liked Windows 10 so much I upgraded my desktop PC and my wife's PC. I bet most of those complaining about privacy (and I'm not singling you out particularly here) bleed more info on a daily basis using Android or Apple phones or by using Twitter or Facebook etc. That's not to say having concerns about your privacy is wrong its just a l...
Why is it such a problem? A free upgrade to the latest operating system. Those concerned about their privacy can turn features off but I bet those that do complain about privacy bleed more details of their life through using Android, iOS or even apps like Facebook and Twitter or just day to day browsing
Apple must be getting a little nervous, it's all Tim Cook seems to do these days is try and run down their competitors.
Good, Amazon needs to act upon this problem, its been going on for years
