Apple are good phones but I will always prefer an android alternative due to preference. I also think when Apple do something, it takes more notice compared to android, i.e. apple pay, apple watch etc has made a larger impact compared to the android counter part simply due to apple being a great marketer and strategist.

I actually do agree with this review. The phone is packed with so much bloat ware, you have no choice but to root the device in order to run a custom firmware to get rid of it. The design is nice, but compared to the flagship models out there today, Xperia Z, Apple, HTC One, all have a premium and luxurious finish i.e. glass, metal,etc, S4 is just plastic with more plastic. You would expect at a £550 entry point, they atleast garnish the phone in some premium material.
The gap between newer phones are becoming quite small now, for example, difference between 3GS and 4 was a fair amount, but from 4S to 5, not so much. Same for Samsung/Android phones, Samsung Galaxy S to S2, big jump, but from S3 to S4, not so much.
