while the price is steep, there are people who have trouble bending over to tie their shoes. Elderly people for instance. My dad buys shoes with velcro straps now because it's hard for him to tie shoes. Overweight people as well....and I hope people don't start with the, "Well they should get in shape", because that's besides the point. Some people with back injuries or disabilities can have a really hard time bending over.

You should reread the comment. Like I said it doesn't matter if Google created the original patent or not. They now own it, and they have every right to protect what they own.

Regardless of whether or not Apple is passionate or not, if they infringed on the patent they could be held liable. If Apple was truly passionate as you say, then they would have done what they should have done in the first place and obtained the rights to use that technology.

It doesn't matter. Google brought these companies because they had something of value to them. In this case they have every right to sue to protect their patents. It doesn't really matter which company officially created the original patent, as patents can be bought and transferred.

They could be asked to lift the bans, but they can't be compelled to stop lawsuits against other companies by the courts as that is illegal. The decision itself could be used in those cases depending on what exactly the complaints are however. They could come to an agreement to stop any litigation against those companies with current suits, but it wouldn't be ordered by the courts and they would be free to re-sue.
