Yup, BR is dying as consumers are moving more and more to streaming. The advantages:
* access to the best quality streams (your blu-ray is stuck at 1080p)
* access entire library anywhere
Those two conveniences alone will kill blu-ray as internet adoption accelerates
I cannot wait for it to release. When can I order it MS? WHEN?
When is it going to be released!!!???
I agree, and I wish more parents was this responsible with their own children.
I agree, Windows 8 freaking rocks.
I'm using the pre-release version and it screams. I don't bother booting into Windows 7 anymore (I dual boot).
It's not the corporation that carries out these acts, it's the people running it my friend!
@duplissi:
"from a developer standpoint maybe, but from a consumer standpoint fragmentation is hardly there."
That is actually quite far from the truth. Have any of you researched the problem?

That is for browser, not even apps!
I would rather have Apple than Android devices. From a developer and user experience standpoint, they are both superior on iOS than Android.
I hate how, I go to Amazon Android Market and you find apps you can't use all the time. On iOS that is clearly spelled out and far easier to test by developers.
As much as I like open source (Android is barely open source), and all, but the fragmentation kills any serious consideration for me.
Nice, but way expensive. No thanks!
I will carry three cards and save myself a $100.
@Racer-X:
I have used the app-store and it's like any other app store. It won't replace Steam, it is merely a threat.
As far as I can tell it doesn't have any game chat features or anything like that to compete with Steam. However, $1-3 games can severely cripple Steam as the customer free time is shifted to doing that instead on multiple devices from desktop, tablet to smart phone.
I don't know exactly what will be in XBL fo...
If you upgrade it, you will find you like it! I love Windows 8 and don't listen to Gabe, the Windows 8 App store and XBL is a threat to his business so he is frustrated.
@truewittness:
Africa is just one example of a poor country and yes, they do have a corrupt government. However, you can donate money to US organizations that go to those third world countries and do the charity work themselves.
That to some degree ensure the help reaches those nations in need.
For $700k, I will up the suffering of the old lady and let me myself be verbally insulted by adults too! I will turn around and donate every cent to a...
@shackdaddy:
It's a rich man disease because nobody in the third world would likely even know they had cancer. They would never seek treatment for it even if they did.
Only in the rich world is cancer an issue, for everyone else it's life or death.
It's really a shame that people are so dumb!
Why? Well hear me out then!
Children in Africa are dying every day from curable diseases and lack of food, yet this lady crying for 10 minutes gets her $700k?
I feel bad for her and that isn't acceptable behavior, but I feel even worse for the people in third world countries that battle life and death, not an adult receiving harassment for young adults.
The good news, she i...
Normally, I don't like protesters. Especially being from Berkeley, CA (known for protest since the 60s and the hippie movement).
However, I wish more attractive women would protest in such a manner. I would welcome them with open arms! XD
You see, death from cancer due to smoking obviously means you ain't using Facebook no more. So this is a ruse to get you to continue using Facebook! XD
The big difference is Google is probably far nastier with their privacy policy. They probably already know too much about you!
I can't say I like or use Facebook all that much either!
wah?
This is pretty disgusting, but these women do allow themselves to be taken as such. Now, why is it that men doing this aren't ashamed?
As a male, I would like to see immature men shamed in our society for this too!
How is it "stealing" others ideas when they "buy" it?
MS has come up with many innovative ideas, but people refuse to see them only focusing on failures.
Even if you have free google apps grandfathered in gmail still screw you over, by not working nice with email clients like Outlook or Windows Mail.
