I think they are still very popular, since everyone and their mother will buy their products. However, if you look closely, they haven't done anything great since a long time ago.

I really don't get why a 5.5 or 5.7 phone exists? It's too big, and unless you are Shaquile O'Neil (sp), it's way too big. My mother has the Galaxy Note 3, and every time I use it, it's just way too big! I don't know why she likes it.

Exactly! 5.5" is already in the line of ridiculous! 7" is just a joke! I see that more as a tablet with phone capabilities (which could actually be nice in some circumstances) but if I saw someone carrying that thing as a phone, I would slap them!
Size is about preference. I know people that love the Galaxy Note 3 because of the size. That is fine, but that is not something that would make Apple bankrupt if they don't release. Yes, there would be people wanting an iPhone because of it, but it wouldn't make that much of a difference in market share.

The biggest problem with the iPhone is not the size, but the features. iOS is becoming so barebones that is not useful anymore. iOS 7 is the worst operating system Apple has released ever. Not only is not useful, not with the minimalist approach, it looks bland and boring.

I must admit that I am not a fan of android, although I don't like iOS 7 that much either. I personally don't like Android, but Samsung is doing a pretty great job with their phones. Almost every person I know they switched from iPhone to a Samsung Galaxy S3 and some S4.
On the other hand, Apple is stuck with iOS. They haven't changed it a bit since it ever appeared. It was very innovative when it first released, but 6 years later it now feels old. It needs way more functionality. It needs a complete redesign.

Yeah, you are right! People hate on Apple, but don't realize most of the products are a playing catch up to Apple, or at least, they wish they had their sales.

I have a Motorola RAZR I got for free some time ago and it came with 2.3, but I just recently updated to 4.0 and it looks horrible. The whole interface changed and for the worse. I don't know if it is because it's a Motorola (I am not a fan of those), but there were a lot of changes that ruined the great experience I had with 2.3
Does it have to do with the phone being Motorola, or Android 4.0 did change a lot for the worse? I lost a lot of features and functionality....
It was NOT a new Macbook AIR, it was a NEW MacBook PRO. It's just that is as thin or thiner than the Air.
I got my first Mac with Leopard (10.5), and it was amazing. Snow Leopard (10.6) improved it massively. Then came Lion (10.7) and Mac OS X has been going downhill ever since!
