Please remake Resident Evil 4, Capcom

With the RE3 remake out, it's now time for Capcom to push the big red button and develop a Resident Evil 4 remake instead of just constantly porting the same game to new hardware.

The game needs to be the same in gameplay and design but with a graphical overhaul and some quality of life improvements. Thats it.

Skate-AK1484d ago

So like the Modern Warfare remasters? If so, I agree.

bouzebbal1484d ago

Please don't capcom..
Give us Code Veronica remake next, the needy RE to date

dangerousbrian01483d ago

I would agree with that better assets better textures & maybe they could add new areas & new enimes to the game also add Resident Evil 2 Remake Leon for continuity. Also they need to Resident Evil in over the shoulder & add Resident Evil 3 Jill again for continuity Also like someone else said they need to Resident Evil Code Veronica also do the same with claire add Resident Evil 2 Remake version. I know it sounds stupid me constantly repeating myself about the character but I believe continuity between characters between games are important especialy if they are using some of the same characters .

GameStallion1483d ago

Would be epic. Think if they could make it look as good as RE3 or even better for next gen consoles! (insert Homer Simpson ahhh gif)
That being said, I played the PS4 remaster not too long ago & could not tolerate the controls past the second area, so IMHO they do need to modernize The gameplay.

Nacho_Z1483d ago

I don't agree, I'd like to see what Resi 4 would be if it was a new game made today by a top drawer team with a big budget, not an old game with some polish. That's boring and a waste of time and effort.

Remake it so they can re-released a thousand times. Again.

Literally the most over hyped RE game ever. 1-3, 0, veronica X. Thats it. Everything else is trash.

Most underrated comment on this thread. Thumbs up!!!

strayanalog1484d ago

Sadly, it feels almost inevitable by this point. I rather they not remake any more Resident Evils, but if Capcom continues on this route then Code Veronica should be next. And Dino Crisis while we wait. Hope everyone brushed up on their Queen for Code Veronica XL.

BiofourceGun1484d ago

the original RE4 will probably be better though.
Code Veronica seems to be the only game that i think could use it more.

Eamon1483d ago

Agreed. RE4 is no need of a remake. A graphical revamp, maybe. If they wish to bring it up to modern standards of visual fedility, then fine.

Resident Evil 4 is a masterpiece of its time. It revolutionized both the Resident Evil franchise AND the third-person shooter genre.

Code Veronica could do very well with the RE Engine treatment. Like RE2make, it can benefit from a third-person perspective while sticking its survival horror roots.

AdmGenAladeen1483d ago

It revolutionized the RE franchise? Are you f'n kidding me? It ruined the RE franchise. It led to the development of the worst 2 mainline entries, 5 and that abomination 6. It destroyed everything RE fans loved and grew up with.

Eamon1483d ago

I agree that RE5 and RE6 were awful, but RE4 definitely revolutionised the franchise.

The verb revolutionise doesn't necessarily mean good or bad but a major change of the status quo. The way we (and developers) viewed Survival Horror and TPS genres changed after RE4 came out.

meganick1484d ago

Code Veronica would be the next logical remake since it’s the true sequel to RE2. However I would much prefer a remake of the original game using the RE engine. Nothing beats a spooky mansion as a horror setting.

CorndogBurglar1484d ago

I'm torn of RE1. Only because I absolutely love RE1 Remake, and it still holds up very nicely and somehow still looks beautiful.

But at the same time, I'm with you too. I would like to play RE1 with the new engine. So, I guess I'm okay either way?

meganick1483d ago

The RE1 remake is a masterpiece. That game and the RE2 remake are the high points of the entire series. RE4 was amazing when it released and still holds up very well, but it felt like more of an action-horror game as opposed to a pure survival horror game.

The 10 PSVR 2 Games You Should Own

If you're looking for 'must have' PSVR 2 games then look no further. These are the 10 titles every PSVR 2 owner should have in their library.

If you're wanting more PSVR 2 support, you should probably buy all of these games.

Speak with your wallet!

Profchaos40d ago

Bit rich to have to buy games you don't want because you want Sony to support the expensive headset they sold us which cost as much as the console it runs on beyond paying third partys to support it.
Seriously in terms of first party we have horizon on day 1 and a gt 7 vr mode.

They seemingly have made little effort to support it beyond paying Capcom to make re games in VR or a second party studio to make firewall which was mismanaged.

I'm a day 1 psvr2 user and the only thing I'm excited for right now is PC support.

I commented recently this bespoke VR game development model we have right now clearly doesn't work

crazyCoconuts39d ago

On the one hand I feel like there's been plenty of smaller non-AAA games to play and occupy me as a supplement to my flat screen gaming.
But I agree that Sony has done nothing to elevate this beyond the niche it's in and into the mainstream where it would be economical to create AAA games for it.

Babadook739d ago (Edited 39d ago )

Most of these games are worth owning for most people; I own all but 2 of them in fact. So I agree with kevco33. I think you're crazy if you downplay this list quite frankly. Sony can't keep funding software if people don't buy any of it, the ball is squarely in OUR court.

Sony has spent a lot on 3rd party stuff this gen like RE.

phoenixwing40d ago (Edited 40d ago )

Saving up for the headset is my first hurdle. Let alone buying games I don't want lol

mudakoshaka39d ago

People downvoting you for not having enough finances...what a world we live in, haha

phoenixwing39d ago (Edited 39d ago )

@mudako
They feel affronted at the very thought that I don't plunk down 500 immediately lol I have a little over 900 games in my backlog I've been buying games instead of hardware ever since I got my PC and ps5. I just don't know if vr is really for me honestly. Every time I have a couple hundred allocated to video games it makes more sense to buy a bunch of flat games instead of vr ones

mudakoshaka39d ago

I have 9 out of these 10 games. I try to buy all the VR games I like to support the advancement of VR!

TheEroica39d ago (Edited 39d ago )

I spoke with my wallet after watching the first headset get weak support. Easy pass until Sony earns my money. Feel bad for those who parted with 500 bucks, falling for the hype that Sony was actually gonna support this thing.

Neonridr40d ago

I own 7 of these titles off the list, lol.

NotoriousWhiz40d ago

I'm trying to decide if it's worth holding onto my psvr 2. I enjoy what it has currently, but it seems unlikely to get anything else. Might be better off just waiting for something with more support if that ever comes.

Profchaos39d ago

As a fellow psvr2 owner the question seemingly comes down to do you own a PC.

I think I'm all in I have a habit to hold onto my systems anyhow I still have my psvr1 to hell I still have my NES.

But while it's still worth something yeah you could sell it and if Sony turns the ship around you should be able to buy another one for less than you soldmit for I feel like we won't see any fix for the headset for the next 2 years rumours show that Sony has no current first party VR games in active development after they closed London studios

The whole psvr2 situation has left me feeling a little burnt on PlayStation as a whole to be honest. The first psvr felt experimental but it was supported far more than this superior headset

MIDGETonSTILTS1740d ago

GT7 surprised me, because I hate racing games, but i poured 100 hours into it way too quickly.

I’m looking forward to the Metro VR game this year, and I hope that WW2 dogfighter game releases eventually.

talocaca40d ago

I have most of them 😅

Waiting for a sale on Synapse and Arizona Sunshine 2.....also Metro coming this year looks great.

Resident Evil 4 Remake Was Devastated With Bugs A Month Before Launch

The Resident Evil 4 remake's director has revealed in a recent documentary that the game was riddled with bugs in its final month before launch.

Rebel_Scum56d ago

Not a big surprise really. All games are pretty rough until the very end and everything is released with bugs regardless of how the consumer quantifies it as being “polished.”

CrimsonWing6956d ago

That’s sort of how game development or any kind of software development goes. Looking for bugs and debugging, QA, and trying to scramble and polish everything before a deadline’s up.
