What Everyone Is Too Polite to Say About Steve Jobs

Gawker: "In the days after Steve Jobs' death, friends and colleagues have, in customary fashion, been sharing their fondest memories of the Apple co-founder. He's been hailed as "a genius" and "the greatest CEO of his generation" by pundits and tech journalists. But a great man's reputation can withstand a full accounting. And, truth be told, Jobs could be terrible to people, and his impact on the world was not uniformly positive."

Many of us know that he was capable of being a grade A world renouned @sshole!

But... Hey, it's a fact that nice people don't make it to the top.

Speed-Racer4574d ago

People shouldn't give him the praise he deserves if that's the case, they should treat him like a scumbag, like how other CEOs get dealt with.

i'm sorry but that "fact" is BS

Every one in live has + and - points but as a business man he managed to achieve what a lot of other CEO's and companys have not managed to do and that is take a failing company to be one of the biggest in the world. He came in at the right time when there was a gap in the music market with the Ipod. I remember getting my 1st MP3 player it was a massive 32mb I could fit 11 songs onto it and people were laffing at me saying there mini disk player was better and mp3 players will not take off and then along came the Ipod. It was not the best mp3 player on the market but apple managed to advertise it right and it then became the cool device to have and the company carried this on into the iphone and Ipad again not the best devices on the market but have the cool name and work well at what they do.

I do think cracks have started to appear in apples phone market with Android and Windows Phone 7 now on the market that offer more then the Iphone but if it was not for the Iphone we would not have android or Windows Phone 7.

I am not a fan of apple or Jobs but if you look at what he has done as a CEO in the IT world he has got his name up there with Bill Gates.

I am not a fan of Apple or Steve Jobs because they over price there items.

Here is the proof:

http://www.isuppli.com/Tear...

They can over price it by 200$ because you have people in the world you would pay that much.....

Pillville4574d ago

Why shouldn't they sell them at the price people are willing to pay? People have the choice to not buy them and there are plenty of competitors.

Not to mention the price in that link is only the physical hardware cost. You didn't mention the price of running a business, research, software development, maintenance, support, retail,......

ngecenk4574d ago

yeah.. when apple did it they're actually a scumbag! but when premium built up pc did it they actually doing what they need to do! right?

/sarcasm

Deputydon4574d ago

Apple is successful BECAUSE they over charge. They labeled themselves as the 'premium product' and people have that sense that they NEED to have the best products available, regardless of cost.

So people bought in.

Wow this is the worst you could say about steve jobs? Many of these things could be said about other CEO's or company leaders.
