Engadget: The phone, the myth, the Legend has just become available over in Canada, giving North Americans their first taste of that aluminum unibody construction.
Engadget: Sure took a long while, but the Android 2.2 update is now available to all HTC Legends residing in Europe and... no, sorry, this isn't the just-announced Gingerbread. It's Froyo, the one before it -- trust us, this isn't a frozen dessert you won't mind in the midst of winter. And don't bother asking about 2.3 because HTC isn't giving specifics.
Pocket-Lint: It's a busy day in the world of Froyo.
First up, Vodafone has begun rolling out its Android 2.2 update to Legend users.
HTC had promised a Froyo update for the handset earlier this month, but had warned: "For those of you with carrier-branded versions of Legend there will be a slightly longer wait...once we finalise the update within HTC, the software must then go through the appropriate approval process at each carrier that supports Legend on their network. This is the same process for all of our handsets, and Legend is no different".
Pocket-Lint: HTC has confirmed that it will release a Froyo (Android 2.2) update for unbranded HTC Legend handsets within the next couple of weeks.
In a message to its Facebook fans, the mobile phone company says it has been working hard to get it sorted and that fans shouldn’t have too much longer to wait.
